At 1:00 AM, Republicans passed Donald Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill.”
It cuts taxes for the rich—by taking food and healthcare from the poor.
The final vote: 215-214. Two Republicans joined every Democrat in voting no.
This 1,100-page monstrosity does exactly what the modern GOP was built to do:
Steal from the poor. Pay the rich.
With its passage, Trump moves one step closer to rewarding the billionaires who’ve bankrolled his campaigns—and padded his family’s fortune.
This bill is the perfect emblem of Trump-era Chaos, Corruption, and Cruelty.
So this week’s report is focused solely on this big, beautiful clusterfuck.
If you remember nothing else, remember this:
Americans making $1 million or more will get nearly $90,000 in tax breaks yearly. The average family earning less than $50,000 will get less than $1 a day.
This is one of the largest transfers of wealth from working families to the ultra-rich in American history.
$3.8 trillion extension of Trump’s 2017 tax cuts
(Top 10% receive 45% of the benefits)$700 billion in Medicaid cuts
(8.6 million people lose coverage)$267 billion in cuts to SNAP
(3 million families lose food assistance; school meals for 18 million kids at risk)Planned Parenthood defunded
$300 billion slashed from student loan programs
$3.8 trillion added to the national deb
Millions of Americans lose healthcare. Children go hungry. The rich get richer. This is the Republicans’ agenda. This is Trump’s America.

Budgets Are Choices.
This budget clarifies what Trump and the GOP value: wealth over people.
Let’s look at what $3.8 trillion in tax cuts for the rich could fund instead:
$1.6 trillion over 10 years would expand the Child Tax Credit.
(Helps 19 million families, lifts 3 million kids from poverty every year)$1 trillion – Avoid cuts to clean energy subsidies.
(Avoids 300,000 job losses and $43 billion in higher utility bills)$200 billion – Guarantee school meals and child nutrition programs for a decade
$1.7 trillion – Cancel all student loan debt—twice
What Can We Do
This isn’t over. The bill still has to pass the Senate. And that gives us a real shot to stop it.
If just three Republican Senators oppose the bill, it won’t move forward without major changes. That’s where we come in.
Here’s who’s most likely to break ranks:
Lisa Murkowski – Alaska
Susan Collins – Maine
Josh Hawley – Missouri
Thom Tillis – North Carolina
If you live in these states—or know someone who does—urge them to call their Senator. Tell them what this bill really means: millions will lose healthcare, kids will go hungry, and billionaires will get richer.
Share the facts. Use this Demcast Toolkit to post on social media and push back against the spin.
This bill is bad policy and a moral failure. We need to make sure everyone knows that.
