It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. This quote will probably sum up the presidential debate pretty well.
Tomorrow evening, when President Biden and Donald Trump take the debate stage, we are sure to hear two very different visions of America. Trump will paint a picture of carnage, crime, and economic disaster, while President Biden will describe a (accurate) reality of economic momentum and growing prosperity.
This will certainly be one of the most seen moments of the election, making it a pivotal moment. Coming out of it, we will see a stark contrast between the two candidates, which will frame this election very clearly. Donald Trump is a convicted criminal who is only out for himself. President Biden is working for you and your family.
But despite what happens live during the debate, the real impact will be felt online after the debate, where clips will be shared for millions more to see.
This is where we can contribute. Sharing clips highlighting this contrast will be essential to winning the messaging battle.
If you want to participate and add your voice, our friends at DemCast have partnered with the DNC for a rapid response campaign to help spread key moments on social media during and after the debate.
During the debate, we’re deploying a massive social media rapid response effort. You will receive real-time content to amplify across social media, to meet the moment and spread the Biden-Harris message. The event will begin with a brief Zoom meeting, where we will walk through process for rapid amplification and talk about what to expect, and then move into a communication channel where we will push out content in real time with the debate.
I will be participating in this event. I encourage you all to join as well. Register here.
I can not emphasize how important this aspect will be. This debate is not being sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates, meaning that, unlike previous presidential debates, it will only air on CNN. Usually, presidential debates take over all networks, leading to less competition and higher ratings. That won’t be the case here.
So the clips and content that is shared after the debate hold even more importance tomorrow. So please consider joining the social amplification efforts.
Trump Attacks Public Education
At a rally earlier this week, Donald Trump promised to cut funding for public education.
We need to remind people that not only will Trump’s plan attack our children’s education and health, but Trump is doing this while promising to give the wealthiest Americans tax breaks.
Tax breaks for the wealthy and cuts to public education is not a popular policy agenda.
Feel free to share that video, as well as other content from our Trump and Education ToolKit.
