What are Republicans doing to resolve the conflict over healthcare for millions of Americans?
Speaker Mike Johnson has called for a continuation of the House recess. Congress has been out of session since the shutdown began on October 1.
Meanwhile, the Senate found time for celebration, attending a lavish 6th birthday party for “Babydog,” the pet of Senator Jim Justice.
And at the White House, Donald Trump hosted an opulent dinner for some of the wealthiest donors in the country as a “thank you” for funding his latest project: a new ballroom at the White House.
While the powerful toast and celebrate, millions of Americans are left waiting. Federal services remain shuttered. Hundreds of thousands of federal employees have already missed paychecks. And families will soon receive notices about drastic increases in healthcare costs, all while the party continues in Washington.
Is this the new normal?
